 I am pleased to announce a new exhibition of sculptures, images and augmented reality opening on August 2 through August 28. With a reception on August 7 11 am - 1 pm.
 Whidbey Life Magazine has published a feature spread about the Sculpture Forest, including the story behind the park's creation, insights about specific sculptors and sculptures, and how visitors plus sculptors are experiencing the Forest today. Author Lea Cramer and photographer Marsha Morgan, with the help of editor Dianna MacLeod, created a wide ranging and entertaining overview.
“The playful and experimental installations invite us to appreciate a visual culture within the context of nature. Some even offer a thought-provoking commentary on the complicated relationship between man and nature… Like nature itself, the installations are ever-evolving; they are changed by the elements, by time, or by the artists. It’s a perfect place to explore, with over 28 installations to tease out curiosity, ignite creativity, and foster divergent thinking. Sculpture X Form Finding for the 21rst century William Paterson University workshop and residency June 3, 2021- June 17, 2021 THE WORKSHOP Imagine being in a group of like-minded creatives working in proximity to create sculpture carved by robot but finished by your hand? We seek to bring together artists, sculptors, designers, architects, and curators to explore robot carving in wood. Working around other artists can inspire and motivate as you explore ideas in a speculative, constructive context. It’s an opportunity to discover new ideas as well as work with new technologies. That's the spirit and tone that Sculpture X: Form Finding for the 21st Century seeks to provide. William Paterson University Center for New Art is now offering a 2 week workshop from June 3, 2021- June 17, 2021 for carving a sculpture (from a wooden block) by robot and then further working it by hand.
