Chopping Deconstructed
|
Hand ToolsChopping Deconstructed was a performed at the Center for New Art in Wayne, NJ. The work features the performer coming upon a series of axe heads shaped like hands and an axe handle laid out before a tree. The hand shaped axes speak to the origin of tools. Tools are shaped to fit the hand. They are designed to work with human movement. The limitation of the human hand is an impetus to design tools. This human limitation is a large part of Chopping Deconstructed. The repeated failure speaks to hope for a different outcome.
